What Are Lessons Like?
Come As You Are: Have you ever been told to leave your stuff at the door? Here, you are encouraged to bring all your βstuffβ with you. Iβll meet you where you are. π
Holistic Approach: Weβll address not only the technical aspects of singing but also the emotional + psychological barriers that you may be struggling with.
Emotions: Singing is emotional. Itβs vulnerable. Especially if youβve been through music trauma. I will hold space for you, your lived experience, + any emotions that come up.
Agency: I empower you to use your agency because your ability to make aligned decisions increases the trust you have in your voice. This also means I encourage your βno.β
Self-Compassion: When you build this muscle, singing will be coming from a place of love and gentleness, not hate + criticism. You canβt hate your voice into a version of it you can love.

Weβll Be A Great Fit If:
You vibe with artist-led lessons
You might be asking, βWhat the heck is that?β Simply put, you are the expert on your own voice and you get to call the shots. Lessons are collaborativeβIβm here to provide support + guidance, but youβll never hear me dictate whatβs right or wrong.
Youβre not into the tough love approach
This is a gentle space. Perhaps youβve had a teacher in the past that was overly critical. I donβt subscribe to that method; it doesnβt foster improvement or create a sense of safety. I will always be your biggest supporter, reminding you of your capabilities while honoring and exploring the areas youβd like to grow in.
You prioritize vocal freedom over belting a high note
While we do often work on belting, our main focus is deepening your understanding of your voice. Weβll explore itβs nuances: How singing can feel safer + how you can cultivate self-compassion while reducing self-criticism.
You want a relaxed atmosphere
If your previous lessons were full of tension + pressure, you'll find a refreshing change here. Lessons with me are exploratory β we'll laugh, make weird noises, and embrace curiosity. There's no need to show up to a lesson βpreparedβ + I'll never shame you for not practicing.
Letβs work together!
You already hold all of the answers inside of you. I am here to walk alongside you while they are unearthed. I would love to get to know you and see how I can be a supportive force in your life as you step back into singing.

I have a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music (CCM) + a Bachelor of Music from Lawrence University. I love learning so I am always furthering my studies in vocal anatomy + pedagogy as well as gaining more tools for trauma-informed instruction.
